The enforcement of federal and state laws, as well as local county ordinances, in the unincorporated areas of the county falls under the jurisdiction of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. This agency oversees the operation of the county jail, ensures security in the courthouse, delivers summonses, enforces court rulings, conducts criminal investigations, offers continuous training and education for personnel, and fulfills numerous obligations outlined in Illinois statutes.
